why does everything take longer than it should?
« on: March 11, 2011, 04:57:09 pm »
I have spent the whole day collecting some ewes which should really only have taken a couple of hours but trying to combine it with an eight month old's routine (what am I saying there is no routine) meant I only just got back to meet two more off the school bus.

I used to be so organised and punctual!!!

LOL - not to put a dampener on your day, or year, it carries on until they are at least 22yrs......thats as far as I have got and they still slow my days down and turn me into a dinner burning, water bucket forgetting, disorganised so & so.... :P

We have 5 kids - yes 5!!!

The eldest is 18 and youngest  8 months I used to joke that if I'd committed murder I would have got out of my sentance sooner.  Up until 9 months ago I worked full time too - I must be insane.

Lets hope moving the mig in a week or so doesn't take as long it throws the bottle feeding of lambs right out of the window!!!

It took me an hour to make 18 bathbomb muffins today because my 4 year old insisted on 'helping'.  This order is for 75 of the things so if scarlett is home I can see this taking me a few weeks!!
combined with the inevitable 'mummy-brain' that you get, I find my life is total chaos now wiht our 4. eldest is 9 youngest 4. hey ho, all good fun!

Sorry but it happens even without kids - animals distract you too, as does weather, a visitor/phone call..

Life is just like that and I reckon those with kids are probably the best organised at dealing with it - I used to manage a full time plus kind of day job plus a stud of 20 ponies, 2 training courses and a few hobbies and a minor social life - now I can't organise myself to get a pint of milk from a town 3 miles away cos I find a break in the weather and decide to go for an hour's walk, get back and have to re-stoke the fire, go out to feed animals, come in and have the kettle on and then realise I totally forgot to go out for milk ::)

Animals = no plan works like the plan is set out.  :D

Sometimes it goes almost to plan - but there is never anyone looking to congratulate us, a little smirk to ourselves is the only thing granted.

Animals!! Grrr - sometimes I really do wonder why...  thats until the job is done and we get the most excellent feeling that for another day we cant do anymore - then bed.
