Does any body plant with the phases of the moon?

Does any body get good success rates with their vegetables?

Does it differ from just planting them at any time?

Would be interested to thrash this one out on this forum.

I don't because we are on the limit for veg growing here - well, any tasty exotic kinds of veg anyway.  So I have enough difficulty trying to find a suitable time to sow or plant when weather and soil conditions are good, without adding in another factor.  It will be interesting to see if anyone else does though.

INteresting thought though. Full moons are very productive times in the maternity unit, we always used to see more midwives on the rota full moon as babies tend to start arriving more that night than any other! 3 of mine were born on a full moon..

3! did it make you howl + are you sure that wasn't a litter of werewolves? ( I know you meant 3 seperate births)
I do remember reading that the reason for planting on a full moon was the gravitational pull brings water to the surface. Has there been any scientific studies on this?

Yes I do. I have grown biodynamically for over 10 years now. It is very interesting & I wouldn't still be doing it if it didn't work.
Today I was dispairing over some leggy calabrese that I knew I'd planted at the wrong time & have gone all leggy on me!

I'm happy to answer any questions. I have been through the regimental follow the rules to the point of ridiculousness & have found a flexible way of working with it that suits me, thanks to other much more experienced bio-dynamic gardeners.
