Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Brilliant - great to see dogs doing what they are bred to do.

Personally, I'd rather have had it without the music, so that I could have heard the interaction between the handler and the dogs.

hi rosemary
if the idiot that had been messing about with the camera hadnt turned of the sound settings that how i would have uploaded it.
(when you read the word idiot, think king nigel lol)

we have other videos on our site with just the dogs and me on but because the camera is attached to the rig i am drowned out by the rig noise

Shame - I looked forwards to hearing you "mushing". Do you really say that?  :)

usually when i am talking about peas :lol
when on the rig (thats instead of a sled) we use hike to go, wow to stop, gee to turn right, haw to turn left, and straight on to cross junctions.
some people have some extra commands.
the person on the rig is a musher and the sport is mushing,
i try to stay silent on the rig because i think the dogs respond better if the only time you speak its to give a true command

I just love to see a dog doing what it's bred for, even a terrier catching rats! Unfortunately Siberian Huskies are starting to come into rescue along with Malamutes. Folk see a magnificent dog and don't realise what work is involved to keep it fit and happy. It is lovely to see your dogs working so joyfully and well done you for your success :)

hi sylvia
i am the same, i love to see dogs at work, i think mostly because they always look like they are enjoying it, but not just the work they are bred for, i like fly ball and agility as well.
i know what you mean about sibes and mals in welfare, its become a massive problem over the last 10 years or so. we try to get people to research whatever breed of dog they are thinking of taking on but so many people want what they see and they want it now.

Nice, very nice!

Was Lorraine Lefevre there? She bred my Mal, Quest.

Dogs look great, congrats on your result and well done.

Who's your money on in the Iditarod? Lance is looking pretty strong at the moment. I think Hans Gatt might do well this year too although, Dallas Seavey..... Big fan of Lance Mackey myself so I hope he does 5.

hi ian
i havnt seen lorraine for some time, she doesnt do many if any of the BSHRA events.
thanks sor the congrats, the dogs really enjoyed the trail, it was very technical with some fantastic corners. i am so pleased with them all but especially my lead girl Kiana. we almost made one serious mistake when we needed to go straight across a junction we almost turned left, i think i may have called the straight on too soon, but she corrected it so well.

the iditarod--- i think in the end lance and his team have the experience and are used to winning this event, that said i understand the trail is running fast this season so maybe that will favour gatt. Queen Elizabeth follows these things more than me and under instruction from her i have put my money on lance. not that i have much money.

What a great result for native people! He came close last year too so he is a real player.

I think Lance burned his team out but it was good trail throughout so the record was always a target.

Well Done JOHN BAKER woo hoo  :)
