Hello from France
« on: February 28, 2011, 11:54:16 am »
Hi, Just stumbled upon your forum "accidently"...  We live in the South of France in the Pyrenees and for the last 3 years, have been trying to establish an organic smallholding, although in the last 10 months we've been looking into Permaculture.  At the moment we only have some raised beds, a polytunnel and a handful of chooks.  Next week, we are going to look for a working Pyrenean donkey and a shire horse.  I am quite excited to have found this pool of knowledge.  Hope to speak to a lot of you soon.

Welcome from Brittany, where we raise pigs and chickens for meat and sale.  We flirted with bio but found the costs just to register plus the on-going certification and almost trebled feed prices too high a price to pay.  We were given loads and advice and support from this site.

Thank you for the welcome.  Hilarysmum, if you are in Brittany you surely must know the bureaucracy nightmare! Hi, Rosemary, I'm sorry to say I had to look on the map to know where Carnoustie lies.

Hanging myself with the red tape as I type ..........  forms, forms forms then they lose them, or send them back or send them to the wrong department and it all starts  over again ...

"Hanging myself with the red tape as I type ...."  I haven't tried that yet, but I haven't got many hair left!
