Aquaponics Anyone?
« on: December 17, 2008, 06:31:15 pm »
I am experimenting with auquaponics.  Is anyone else?

Below is a link to a video of my prototype system along with some photos of my test tropical plants, mesclun and winter vegetables which have survived cold down to 20 degrees farenheit insid my little unheated, about 300 gallons of water for thermal mass, homemade greenhouse.

For right now I am only raising mosquito fish until I get a better idea of how I want to permantly lay out what I am calling a backyard food production complex...fish, vegetables, wormbin all in one small space.

If anyone is interested in aquaponics or in grand concepts :) like self contained closed loop food production visit this page in my website http://www.redbayfarm.com/Voting.html

I have collected numerous links which may be of interest that are available on the page.  Oh yeah ... it is all free.

Best Regards,
Jim
