Finally she is back in her field
« on: February 24, 2011, 01:16:10 pm »
Finally after several very patient hours, too many apples to count, and so much sweat and tears (mine) Hilary is finally back in a field.  THANK YOU GOD.   :D :D :D :D   Yesterday she broke into the house and swiped 27 eggs much to Digby's despair, as he didn't  get even one.  (Its legal for pigs to be fed eggs here, although this was not voluntary on my part).  Now I am off to dig out the liquid parafin for the inevitable constipation to follow ...

Well done! you could have done a picture story for us. Don't envy you when the liquid paraffin starts to work!! having enough problems with the wind from ours on fruit veg and sow nuts :D

We have had our electric fence checked by one of our cats and then by the dog this pm. Sorry but had to laugh at the cat, he went through the stock fence caught his back, ran across the paddock then put his paw on the fence on the otherside. Then ran back to his starting point all at high speed!!

Oh poor cat.  Digby is very relieved, asleep solo on his sofa.  Hilary is VERY miffed.  I have upgraded her field so escape should prove less likely, especially as she has no companion to use as a fence tester.

Oh and the relief this morning when I collected the eggs and bought them into the house without being mugged.
