Well I wouldn't tell AH or TS I was doing that, if I were.
Rendered porkfat (Schmalz in German) is actually really nice for humans (and still legal I think?), on fresh bread. Also fantastic to slowcook red or white cabbage in, using loads of red/white wine, vinegar, sugar and spices. Traditional Xmas dinner food that is! In Germany it was traditionally used for anything that needed frying.
I use the rendered fat from my mutton for wild bird feeders, and also to make soap.
