« on: March 20, 2011, 09:25:36 pm »
Im just saying hello, been looking at this forum for a while and there is no much great advice and help! I've got a small holding with my husband and 2 other friends in the Craven area, were new to this, and seem to be learning everything the hard way! but its a great way of life ... hope to have some livestock later in the year so will be needing lots of advice!  Redx :farmer:

Hello - and hi Hillarysmum ... we have started with a Christmas tree biz as we inherited it with the land, also started experimenting with growing veggies and plan to move onto animals later this year ... so hoping to learn from this forum!  :farmer:

:D  Christmas tree business sounds really interesting.  Perhaps a quick trip to Brittany around Xmas time to collect some of the masses of mistletoe which abounds on the trees here, to say nothing of the ivy which I routinely remove as it is killing our trees.

Hi from sunny Co Durham, are you doing potted Xmas trees, we seem to have issues getting them here in Durham.

Hi Pottsie ... yes we plan too, we've started growing our own Christmas trees from seeds this year as well as your trees are all corporate size at the moment, the plan is to sell potted one's of various sizes and cut one's will also be looking into recycling them where people can rent a Christmas tree ...  :farmer:
