Oooo aaaarrr from North Devon

Hi everyone
I'm Lucy and at the moment I live in an end terraced house in a village on the north Devon coast with my two Labradors, 3 cats and 2 Black Rock hens, however, by the end of March I should be settled in a detached bungalow on a farm which comes with about 1.5-2 acres of land. It's about 10 minutes drive from where I am now so it's not too much of an upheaval :-)

I used to live on a farm as part of an awful job I had (the house and land made up for it for a short while!!!) where I dabbled with growing potatoes, herbs, bell peppers, radishes and lettuce. There were fruit trees in my garden and I put the bounty to good use! The house and land I've recently acquired is pretty much virgin territory and I am free to do as I please with it. It's just knowing where the heck to start! I have a small 6x10 greenhouse but I'm considering a polytunnel with the advice and guidance of a good friend who has one and loves it.

I love to cook and make things - I am quite good with a drill and a screwdriver....even for a girl!! I also enjoy crafts like knitting and sewing.

I'm sure I'll be back with a million questions soon enough - have loved reading through the other posts for now.

Hello and welcome from Scotland .  When we first moved to our smallholding we had a similar problem - where to start, because there was absolutely nothing here but grass and one fence dividing it all into two, plus a tumbledown house. Quite daunting, but with a bit of planning and some good luck we now have it fairly much as we want it.  Good luck with your adventure and keep us in touch with how you get on.
