thanks have always wondered re BWM and never found anyone who could confirm.  I am curious as to where they gt dominant black from but the genetic markers done on the jacob done so far is interesting.

Hi Andy.  I don't know enough about either breed to make a judgement there.  People have crossed with Suffolks which are pretty big - I think possibly too big although I also know of someone who routinely tupped her Soay ewes with a Suffolk  :o  When we used a Texel tup, we chose one with a narrower head and shoulders than is typical of that breed.  Try emailing the Heb Chair: dcassie@btinternet.com - she can give a much more informed opinion than I can, which is worth getting before you give it a go.
