Hi, Sire for one is a Ritzilyn Cesarka dog, the other I haven't got the paperwork yet as stuck in the postal system and can't remember off hand the details.

Can't help with training advice as there are experts on here and I've not had a dog in years

but I hope you will keep posting their progress as I love puppy pics

The only thing I'd suggest is do little bits at a time with a puppy attention span.

I have 4 labs, I kept one from our own litter and bought one from another, she is 1 week younger. I have no problems at all with them, they walk at heel, come when called and are very focused on me, so you can bring 2 up together, just as long as you remain thier boss!!! ours are now 1 year old and I love them to bits, mind you, they would destroy anything left in thier way if they could!!!

are you planning to work the dogs or are they just for pets? Even if you can't get involved with a shoot, they love working trials and worked dogs are happy dogs

You can't just take any dog on a shoot. It needs basic training first. Obedience, obviously, but also retrieving is quite specialised for shoots. They need to learn distance control so that they can be guided onto runners or birds that have gone down in awkward places. They need to learn to progress from canvas dummies, to cold game, then to warm game - it is not always natural. I have given Sandy and Steve information and books on training their Labs for this work. There are numerous books on the market, and websites too, but I would recommend anyone wanting to work their dogs to find a local gundog trainer who specializes in whichever group their breed belongs to - eg retrievers, spaniels, HPRs, pointers & setters.
