Another tree down here overnight - or rather half of one split and landed behind the back of my house :o  Same guy that was out on Monday is here again chopping it up bless him, but there is still half a tree to worry about and now it's split it'll rot so has to come down..  He's going to need his pal to come with ropes for that but meantime is making his way towards it..

I spent most of yesterday morning stacking wood and I guess I've a few more hours to come ::)

Had a worrying moment when I couldn't see any of the 12 ponies in the back field at dawn, none of them near the hay bale :o but when I took a rather brisk trip across the field I found them down the far end where there must have been more shelter.. and all fences intact - phew :)

Hope everyone else is safe and well..

Just some garden furniture blown about and parts of the kids' slide - the 10  feet trampoline we wisely put upside down last autumn as it had landed once just inches from my car ! More storm coming now , though...  :P :&>

We have wind here in Birmingham but it's a picnic compared to you guys.

Hope you all stay safe and well and that goes for animals and buildings too.

Good luck with all that you have to do.

I've just had to eat my words about it being quiet here!  Calm before the storm.  Rain rain and more rain.  Went up to Kelty woods to walk dogs, on way back became more and more concerned about the flooding, and had a couple of nervous moments as I ploughed through.  The I came to a bridge over a river just our side of a village, saw it was flooded and was careful going through, it has a bad bend in the road right at the bridge and as i slowed for the bend my car stopped - flooded in 2 and a half feet of water. Called a friend as I didn't have my garage's number on my phone, but she also called the Police and they came with the Fire brigade, pushed my car out of the water, the police took me and the dogs home and now I'm off out to meet Green flag to tow the car back here.  Insurance job as the floor is soaking!

Got home to find the front garden flooded, the burn has burst it's banks and the chicken run is flooded too

Never again will I get annoyed at Scottish water for not having any - got plenty now! ;D ;D ;D

That was a scary evening, sitting in a wet car wondering if the flood waters would invade, have just emptied all but my dog cage out ready for the garage to take it away for assessment - but it is now a lovely day here and I could have taken all my dogs to the woods for a good romp but for that lake of muddy river water over the bridge.  So instead I'm going to clear out the chicken shed, put fresh dry straw in there, and try to shovel the muck out of their run back into the stream.  Just hope my car isn't a write off as I really like it.

Gulp! What a horrible adventure. I hope you dry out and that the car is okay. My chickens being blown backward up the field, and looking put out is a bit tame in comparison. Gosh!

3 trees down, one about 3ft diameter at base - think we are going to be ok for firewood for the next couple of years!

Just heard from the garage that my car is a write off. Water in the electrics, won't start.

don't just accept the first offer they make        they pay out on the market value not what a similar car would cost but you will get them to increase there offer

Yes, I know - but even so it will never be enough to get the same car again,  it was a really good car, rarely had anything needed, passed every MOT, ran smoothly.  I'll miss her.  Not sure how I get my number transferred - do I wait till I get another car?  The insurance company will take 5 days to send cheque out I think, and until the garage phones tomorrow I don't even know if I'll get a courtesy car in the meantime so don't know how I get to look at any.

It is wprth stallingand getting quotes for the repair. If the cost oi lower than the market value they will do it! We managed to keep one of our cars this way.  :&>
