Wet and Windy Spell off wether and the superstorm

http://www.weatheraction.com/docs/WANews11No3.pdf                                                 Much of the country has had an extended dry period of weather, but a new month brings a change in pattern as it's now time for low pressure to take charge, for a while at least.

Yesterday, rain moved into Western Scotland and is now continuing to journey southeast with some heavier bursts currently moving down through the midlands and eastern England and this fairly narrow band will continue to move through before finally clearing the south coast later today.

Elsewhere today it's generally dry and milder than of late, but for Scotland with colder air briefly back here there will be a good scattering of blustery and wintry showers moving in from the west during the day.

Overnight tonight the next batch of wet and windy weather moves in from the northwest and it's this system which will provide us with a virtual repeat performance during tomorrow. Another system then arrives into Thursday and it stays unsettled right into the weekend and possibly beyond. as you can see we new the storm was there in January but the government didn't                    THIS WEEK UP DATE    Monday will see the band of rain across northern areas, heavy at first, continue to sink south across England and Wales, weakening by the time it reaches the SE, brighter but colder conditions across Scotland spreading south across northern England, Midlands and north Wales in the afternoon. Still some wintry showers across NW Scotland. Windy everywhere at first but easing later in the day. Temperatures ranging between 6 °C across northern Scotland to 12 °C across southern England. Tuesday will bring a respite as a ridge of high pressure builds in from the south, so it will be mainly dry with sunny spells during daylight hours, though rain returns from the SW later in the day, heralding a wet and breezy day on Wednesday, especially in the west. Continuing wet and windy across northern and western areas for the rest of the week, perhaps drier towards the SE.

I do feel sorry for Queensland too- been through so much, and now a cyclone!

Nearer to home- we are currently having a huge storm- thunder, lightening and hail  ::)

I've got elderly relatives in Cairns and Townsville. Just waiting to see they're OK.

Snow here this morning - just a skim and wet, but very windy too. Clear sky and sunny now.

Just got back in in the nick of time.  Up here in the Northwest Highlands blowing horizontal rain with speeds up to 70 mph!  The loch is covered in white horses.

Time to batten down the hatches as the doors are already blowing themselves open.

70 mph winds tonight here in Glasgow. My greenhouse has blown apart and someone knocked on my door to tell me my fence was blowing around the street. Just in from clearing up but will be a busy day tomorrow more clearing up and fence re building. Hope all you TAS'ers are safe and well.

Quite quiet here in the Wee County, hope it stays that way.
