You can just keep rebuilding a landrover so not to bad, but need to raise cash as OH lost his job today because he didn't have a car yesterday

What rotten luck, and a rotten way to treat somebody.

I found a patch of rust on the back bumper of our Landy yesterday, so I poked it with my finger...... which went right through! £500 worth of rear cross member required before next MOT!!     (Oh, and Lillian - it turned out the gearbox problem was just a simple matter of topping up the clutch fluid!).

crossmembers are common repair at least you don't need a gearbox are you alright for sat again

same for me - I had a "new" gearbox fitted a few months ago, then we were snowed in for 4 weeks. then I took 3 journeys and the new one broke - I just about made it home the other day with warning lights and all....a few hundred pounds lighter and just past the warranty for the part I am utterly miffed! Wish I had never exchanged the old one, at least I could drive with a leak!
