Mouse (probably Mice!!) free to a good home!

Spotted a little gingery brown beggar scuttle across my the kitchen work top last night having caught a few glimpses over the past week or so.... But not knowing if I really saw it or not?!? Getting old!!

Have ordered some traps and hope to have the little beggar(s) ready for collection by the start of next week!

Yeah, they can come and live with the ones I found in my loft (only found them after they'd eaten the selection boxes ::))
Poison & trap time me thinks  ;) (Can't get a cat - cos my BIG GSD is terrified  ::))

mmm think iv got them in my loft too, put it to the back of my mind, another thing to do on another day   ::) :cat:

i did have a rat in my first house once, must have come in back door, but was living in cupboard for a few weeks before we realised. our 2 cats saw it an ran away, had to leave it to our lurcher to kill it, in full view and hearing of neighbours - great  :D

Ok, this may not sound 'good'   :-X   BUT I'm defending all poor little mouses: why would we want to get rid of our winter house mouse after all, they only move in during the cold months then they buggar off outside again in the spring - in the meantime they eat all the microscopic leftovers that fall on the floor and little multi legged buggy things that I really would rather not have - they are like little midnight vacuum cleaners (anyone know the story of the shoemaker and the elves?)......

Cheers mouse mates!!  ;)

He hasn't seen them - so far they're contained in the loft (and possibly one storage cupboard) but we had a 'house' mouse in Aberdeen that used to scurry across the living room floor to get to the remains of the dog food in the utility room. Trust me, if he could've got all 4 legs on a chair he would have (and lifted his skirt and stood there squeeling lol!)  ::) Never met a bigger p**f of a dog, but he's great with the kids and definately looks the part - had a delivery driver actually run and jump into his van the other day when he saw Boris plodding down towards him  ;D
OhLaLa - I'm not against mice, BUT I've got kids and a baby and have to think about disease. They pee constantly as they walk about, not to mention the nightmare it'll be if they get into the kitchen cupboards. If I thought they'd restrict themselves to the loft it wouldn't be a problem, but they're not  :( so action is required I'm afraid x

thats why my o/h loves GSDs... they "look like proper dogs!"

ours jumped up the frosted glass door at a delivery bloke the other day, I apologised (once she was safely in the other room behind two closed doors!) and he said "oh, I've got one just like it"  not at all phased.  What I didnt tell him was that she can be nervous-aggressive and could have gone a bit potty at him... or run off!

if you were nearer, I'd bring her round to eat your mouse ad Boris could teach her some manners!  ;)

I forgot to mention I've ordered 'humane' traps! I'm such a lightweight I know!! I can see all the members eyes rolling!

but like the last poster said... I'm sure they've/it has only moved in for the winter... As for hoovering up the crumbs... I'd need 1000 of the wee blighters!! If I catch em I'll pop it/them at my neighbours 150m away... His attics full of them all year round! :-)

I must also add I have a GSD... Picture in my avatar! ... Is it a requirement of this forum to have one?? It seems everyone does!

As for mice, he's useless... Rabbits is his thing.. Or humping the cat! :-)

I owe Happy Hippy an apology ... I thought it was you Johnmac that had said the GSD was scared of cats.. and assumed he was scared of the mice too!  I wondered why she answered!
and apologies also to your pup.  what's his name again?

they are very special dogs. but Im not sure its a TAS requirement...  ;)

I would go mad if anyone would release their humanely caught mouse near my house!

We live in a newly built house with cavity walls - the mice love them, scurry up inside the walls, then through the insulation between the floors, you cannot get near them, and they chew up all the insulation and live near the waterpipes... our only option is to put down poison in the one bit where we have access to the pipework in-between the floors... fortunatley it is safely out of the way for both the kids and the dog.. and it seems to solve our mouse problem for another winter....

Never build cavity walls if you can avoid them!!!!

My GSD is a 5yr old bot called Ralph.. Or Ralphonzo! :-)

as for the mice... As mentioned before I think it's just here for some heat and a nibble given how cold it's been lately, and I was only kidding about putting it next to my neighbours house! :-)
