Small holding insurance

It's that time of year again,  after some very expensive months, it's time to insure the farm again. Any recommendations of who to try and/or tips on keeping the policy price down? I've never claimed on a homebor farm insurance policy in my life so some of the prices I get each year are painful!

All advice appreciated

Well when you do need to claim it can make quite a difference ....  NFU might be expensive but dont quibble a claim....  we lost 2 hen houses 8 yrs ago ... straight payout without question,   6 yrs ago I lost my diamond out of my engagement ring .... again just 2 quotes and straight payout.

We had started to question cost in last 2 years , and did get £200 taken off last year by questioning amount.......but  .. our barn room just took off in last storm ..... loss adjuster came out just before Christmas and we are expecting them to payout the full amount when we get cost from our builder.

I agree with the last post

One reason NFU aren't the cheapest is that they settle and quickly

I had a stock trailer stolen a few years ago I thought it was insured but I was wrong. After discussion with NFU, I found out that had my tractor been insured with NFU, every trailer and implement would also be insured, whether attached or not, whether on my holding, or not

Needless to say I have changed my tractor insurance (£15 more expensive !)
