Nanny goat (milking) wanted
« on: January 04, 2011, 03:10:36 pm »
Looking for a milking goat to add to my pampered herd of 2.
Milk needed for soap making. Willing to travel in the midlands but cannot get much further out due to other commitments!

Try the ukgoats.co.uk website. Also BGS has a for sale section, but not sure if it is just for members. Your best try might be one of the commercial herds, if you do not want to go down the pedigree route. Are you looking for an in-kid nanny?

Are you not puting your goatling in kid?

Hi ANke, I've thought long and hard about mating Savannah and both tony and I feel it would not work out right for us this year because savannah lives with the castrated boy, reggie and if she went away for breeding he'd be alone and then when the kids come, she'd be seperated from him too.
I have decided to have another girl so that I can mate alternate years and little reg will always have company in his paddock  :)
still deliberating about in kid nanny or nanny who's kids are grown up and sold on - I suppose it will depend on what I find. Have kind of set my heart on an AN or ANx now  :)

Will have some newly kidded ones available in the spring people! Maybe even an AN, Lisa- though not until well into May.

Will have one  AN for sale after kidding in March.  This is her first time, from a very milking, high butterfat family.

There is a specialist goat transporter - breeder himself - who I can highly recommend as I use him regularly.
