hello from Valencia
« on: January 03, 2011, 05:48:02 pm »
Good afternoon all I am really an accidental smallholder here in the mountains nr. Valencia  _I note with surprise I have been logged in a total of 2 hrs. and some & have not introduced myself. I was looking for a Kenwood mixer second hand & stumbled upon some sound advice from WIZARD and followed it up by joining this site  no luck so far on the machine front but have been well entertained reading various topics I am halfway finished picking olives at the moment but it has been uncommonly cold with frost no less  nothing like some poor souls are putting up withbut it does hamper things. .As to the security business here 10 nyears and never had a problem until people from eastern europe arrived and I lost a generator and a few tons of firewood -now everything is under lock & key and nothing left out  - before you could and did leave keys in cars and houses left open. Now they raid chicken farms for copper ( electric motors pipework ect.) pig farms for pigs (5 stolen last week from a friend) So yes you have to be careful unfortunately

Ohhhhh - Valencia - Oranges - Ummmmmm

That sounds just wonderful.  I don't know how cold it is outside, but the duck pond which had about 5 " of ice and was trying to thaw has now frozen over again.  Apparently there is snow not too far away.  Yuckkkkkk :(

Anyway welcome to the forum from Worcestershire

Welcome from Brittany where at present it is still relatively safe to leave things unlocked.  Well in our part anyway.

Hi and welcome from West Sussex, sorry to hear of all the thefts, it seems thats the way of some peoples lives these days, not prepared to work for it rather steal someone elses property.

Good luck

Hello from sunny Lincolnshire. I love England but I do envy your weather and the availability of wonderful fruit and veg. Anybody could diet in your neck of the woods! Welcome to the forum.
