Very cheeky fox :0(
« on: December 07, 2010, 07:02:42 pm »
went out to fill the water drinkers at 4pm and as I went up the steps found the fox stood right in front of me  eyeing up my remaining hens!! I shouted at him and chased him away (neighbours will love me shouting abuse!!) but now am dreading tomorrow. now he's had one he will be back again and again I know.
electric fencing is all on and chicken run is in full view of my kitchen where I spend most days making bath bombs this time of year!! but... :-\

Yes faith0504 have used the urine method for a number of years and it works well on country foxes. would maybe not work so well on urban foxes.

LOL that's a good idea!! in fact the way these tempremental little fizzers go some days, they actually end up as missiles when I lose my temper with them  ;)
I can hear shooting from  outside and a flock of pheasants have moved into our goat paddock for refuge - maybe they'll dispatch mr fox same time  8)

Thats odd as yesterday I was out feeding the pigs, just stood back watching them, the sheep in the next field had gathered round as per usual. then I noticed they were starring at me or rather through me? I turned round and right behind me was a fox, cool as you like? I crouched down put my hand out,  he stretched his neck out to sniff and bolted through the hedge and across the field, what his intention was I don't know, guess their getting hungry and taking a few more chances, so long as he want considering a piece of my backside?  :-\  ;D

our neighbours thought a few weeks back that a fox had taken a lamb , that was before the deep freeze...I think it is possible it was actually a sea eagle as a few were released nearby and had caused some problems elsewhere. A farm owner was absolutely shocked when one flew out of her hen house in the morning, having eaten a few chooks, of course....Ask me how it got in there in the first place - headcount gone wrong?? sorry, diverted the topic away  from foxy loxy. :&>
