nearly ready for new dwellers
« on: December 02, 2010, 05:32:32 pm »
been up to the new house today to clean out the shed for our chickens and goats, after giving them
a good clean out i was quite surprised as to how good condition they are in.
i am going to nail planks or sheets across the inside of the goat shed to reinforce it and make it warmer but apart from
doing that its good.
chicken house is good as well, we will be bringing our is well.
putting a fence around the perrimeter is the main job so hopefully this weekend we can get on with it.
what i am really chuffed about is that i have proper farm gates now!
therev is something about them that i love ( maybe im mad ! ) i think they add to the character of the place!
will keep you updated and once we are settled i will put photos on ere ;)

The simple things eh Langdon ? I know what you mean about the gates, after using 'recycled' ones left from when my Dad was farming it was a big smile on my face when I got my new galvy ones  ;D ;D ;D

Can't wait to see the pics. We (and our animals) all live in such different houses/setups. Lovely to hear how others are getting on.

Hi Langdon, you are doing something similar to what I hope to do,  what fencing have you used around your chicken perimeter?  Also where did you source it and what did it cost you?

Cheers in advance

where we are now at the moment i have cut down trees and used the wood for the fence with chicken wire so fencing
for me was quite cheap.
where we are moving to now there is a chicken run set up ( post rail wire ) it just need some improvement with timber that we collect
from recycled timber from caravan deckings etc.
hope al works out for you!
