Well I always thought the first sign was she wouldn't come into season again - with my pygmy's they are very vocal when thay are in season so it easy to tell once you get used to the 'I'm in season' compared to 'I want my tea' but with your milking goats possibly there are additional signs - sorry can't help there

thats really the best sigh, that she wont be back in season.
the kids wont "Show" til quite late on, nor will her udders fill, as shes a first timer.

If she doesnt go back into season Langdon, how about taking a photo of her regularly - say weekly or fortnightly, in the same place where there is some kind of a marker, to see how big she is getting over time ...  its really hard to tell when you see her every day!

The first sign is indeed that she won't come back into season, but after that, she might be a bit more picky with her food than normal. As you get on 2/3 months into the pregancy, she will start to deepen out- so not necessarily get fatter, but look bigger in the up and down length of her tummy. Also, later on in the pregnancy, her tail bone will start to rise, that is basically the pelvis starting to relax in preparation for the kids being born.

If you are really unsure, you could get her scanned about 8 weeks after she has been mated- but that's an additional cost.
