Hello there, thank you for having me .

I'm from Welsh/Shropshire borders , I have a small herd of cattle , where i'm breeding up British White from cross Hereford to give them some size and foundation, got 2 BW heifers already and putting in 3 more to BW again.
I love the British White cattle , I do like other breeds but always a fan of the Natives. Also got an Aberdeen Angus heifer who i will be putting back to AA as well.

Just passed my AI course and had to get everything ready, storage tanks etc.

But i love this way of life, always have , we also have chickens, horses and ducks - cant forget them lol.

Sorry for going on but I hope to learn and make freinds here, wish you all well.

Welcome , Well done on the AI course , I hope you have a good deal on nitrogen for your tank, we use Genus and they are creeping up in price.
All the best

Hello and welcome from  :sunshine: Carnoustie. We have Shetland cattle, so I'm with you on the native breeds.

I am a fan of British White too, lovely to hear of someone with a breeding herd :)

Also lovely to hear of someone doing AI; small scale cattle keeping is so much easier if we can get reliable AI services!  I am lucky here in North Cornwall, a mile from the Davidstow creamery and with lots of their milk suppliers round about, so Genus are always in the area and will happily call in to do our one when we need them.  But I know that other small keepers in other areas are not as fortunate.
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
