Hello, Has any one got any pig arks for sale in the Wiltshire Area.  If not, can anyone reccomend where the best place is to buy them from.  Many thanks Andrew.

Hi,

Depends what type of ark you are looking for and what the budget is.

You will get advice ranging from making one out of straw bales to various other arks.

Ask yourself some questions first - How many Pigs? Breeding or just fattening? wood / plastic or metal? and how long do you want it to last?

We sell arks, but mainly aimed at commercial producers as they will last 10 or so years if looked after.

Thanks

Hi I have breeding GOS's but I will not be farrowing in the arks as I bring them in to one of the farm sheds.  I was looking for a couple of 8X8 or 8X10 standard arks (nothing to fancy!) which I can move around between fields.  If anyone has any or advice on where I can get then from that would be appreciated.  Many thanks Andrew

I bought a lot of mine from www.animalarks.co.uk

A bit more expensive than some others on the market but sooooooo much better quality.

Hope this helps.

Hi again,

Like I said, I dont know what your budget is, but take a look at : https://www.suppliesforsmallholders.co.uk/standard-farrowing-hut-p-149.html beyond what most smallholders want to pay, but these are what the commercial guys use.

Thanks

Hi thank you for your reply.  The ark looks great but is a lot more than what I want to pay.  Many thanks Andrew

Animalarks.co.uk sell the half round sheets for about £30 Andrew, you could make your own. Worth a look if you're into DIY  ;)

Hi Thank you for the heads up on the curved metal sheets.  This is definitely an option I will be exploring.
