Scours in the field
« on: February 19, 2021, 08:06:38 pm »
A friend of mine has a field and one of his ewes has been scouring. He asked me what to do with the scour in the field,. He's tried to scoop it up but wondered about rinsing the areas with water. I've no idea what to do about the mess in the field. He's wormed the ewe and she's new to the field, so it could be a change of grass. Any ideas would be great.

Just leave it, it'll wash away with all the wet weather. But I'd take a fresh sample to the vet to look at under a microscope in case it's something that needs treating ASAP.

Thanks for the reply Twizzel. She's now cleared up apparently after just 1 day . So I think he's presuming it was a change of grass or even the few grass pellets she'd had and not been used to. So all's well! Thanks!
