I've got a square shape 8 acre field which is all grass. I'm wanting to put in a track from the top of the field to the bottom which will lead in future to a barn I want to build.
Its on a slope which means in winter the bottom of the field is pretty much inaccessible unless on foot or tractor.
I'm looking for advice on a cost effective means of having a track which can withstand being driven on in winter by a car using it a handful of times a day plus the odd tractor to deliver hay.
What are my options for year round access on a slopey  field?

No idea about tracks on farms, or costs, but our local council made a children's playground area in a muddy part of the park - put down a load of hardcore, then very small gravel, then that black holey stuff that grass can grow through, so kids don't get hurt if they fall.  That was about 10 years ago I think - just as I moved here, and it just looks like the rest of the grass in the park and they mow it same as the rest in summer

Why not build the barn on the higher part of the field?
