Scottish Smallholder Virtual Festival 2020
« on: September 21, 2020, 02:17:06 pm »
The Scottish Smallholder Festival will be held on Saturday 24th October in your living room! We've gone virtual but as far as possible, we've replicated everything that's usually at Forfar!
So 15+ talks, a trade hall, a livestock showcase, a sheep show, a Poultry & Waterfowl Show and a Garden, Craft & Kitchen competition. The only thing you have to provide is the artisan food and drink!
Entries for the three shows are now open, so get along for a look at the schedules and get your entries ready (Scotland only) - and get the date in your diary to join us. All welcome! https://ssgf.uk/

The talks and stands will be along soon for everyone else to view; but get your entries in now  so the can be judged in time for the show

Do you have to be in Scotland to enter?

My daughter would probably like to enter some of the competitions.

I've got a leek and maybe a cabbage, oh and some spuds and an onion.  I challenge anyone to beat my leek  :trophy:  Any takers?  :garden:   Annie what's your entry?

I love Dan's trainset  8)

Oh, I've just seen from the schedule that my cabbage and onions are not needed, and only white spuds - I hope we haven't eaten all the white ones  :o .  But however shall I fit THREE leeks into one frame? or is paper plates  ;D

Afraid so - we are have a grant from the Scottish Government.  But everything else is free to see and will be online permanently

Just a few eggs from my Wyandottes.  Finding a blue plate was a challenge. But nothing daunted, I got out my acrylics that I use for my stones (pic below of the ones I did for my sister and brother in law) and painted a piece of kitchen paper blue, put that on a plate and set out the eggs

It's got a steam train in it so it must be a train set, with an unusual take on the scenery, of a farm.  I can just imagine Dan playing with this in the attic, adding the odd new sheep into his layout, and voicing the train sound effects  :innocent:  You can tell us [member=1]Dan[/member]

It's much more mundane than that! It's from a game called Blocky Farm. We're hoping to use more of their design for the festival site, just waiting on confirmation.

Despite having put it in my diary, I was convinced it was on yesterday and I'd missed it. What a relief to read this post.  ::)

Is there a link for it or do I just find their website?
