Our run is 8ft high. Foxes have NEVER got in. Last year neighbours cat (a Bengal) climbed in, grabbed an Amberlink and dragged it out over the top. Fortunately, a mechanic here at time saw it happen!

Hen was ripped and died! Neighbour didn't believe us! Told her I'd shoot it if it came near birds again! They put framed mesh roof on top of run!

Haven't seen cat lately!!

I like cats. Just don't want them peeing / crapping on my hay or attacking my birds!

Halter train the cattle to keep them quiet but watch your back when they come a'bulling! Give them all names even those you plan to eat. Always be calm. Most importantly, invest in wellies with steel toe caps and be prepared for the clever cow who knows where the toe caps end!!

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and experiences! The saga continues... we have for now arranged set times for our animals out and I‘m keeping watch for alarm calls with a bucket of water. She said to me „stop being nice to him“ - as if keeping him shut in a cage for hours was nice...
