brewers yeast?
« on: June 24, 2020, 10:00:21 am »
I had a big bag of brewers yeast from someone on here a few years ago and am looking to get more.  Can't remember who it was so does anyone have a good supply to recommend?  It's for animal use so powder form not tablets/capsules and I would get a 20kg sack if I found one at a good price.

I've found a 2.5kg tub for £20 on Amazon or a 25kg for £80 odd down in England which I am waiting on delivery info for..

I may be able to offer part shares in a big bag if it works out.  Still looking for a more local supply tho :)

what do you use it for?
We used to give it in small lump sized pieces to a spaniel that was nervous

How much????  I'm buying it from the local feed merchant at £10.50 for 2 kgs!

Where?  My local feed merchant had 800g for more than that so I politely declined hence the Amazon search..

Annie I use it for ponies partly as a fly repellent aid and partly to settle digestive issues.  Briagh has just been diagnosed with Cushings and her digestion is affected, she eats loads of grass and it comes out still green while she has visible ribs and a pot belly which is typical of an old pony.  She is starting on Prascend but that is affecting her appetite so I'm trying a few herbal approaches and brewers yeast is something I had from someone on here a few years ago that helped in a similar situation.  I found what's left of it and it's rock hard now rather than powder so am assuming best get a new supply!

Can't grind it down?  Or would it not be effective now?
