What a weekend, lost 4 hens , found one behind the shed head and neck gone and the breast stripped of feathers. No sign of the others. Then the storm hit us transporting my runner beans from the ground, lifting plants and canes over the garden fence. My plum tree was ripped out of the ground and was mangled into my apple tree , which had only ever produced 2 apples but this year had over 70 on it of which about 40 hit the ground. But my neighbour rescued them and I had the best apple and blackberry tart ( with custard) you could wish for. Then yesterday I decided to sort out what sheep had to go this year , parted the cull ewes ready for market today.
Very tired this morning , no sleep, or our neighbours, never had such noisy weaning. Lambs gone back with ewes today , will fetch them back in early Thursday morning , part them and take straight to market.
