Thanks for the message.  I was thinking either Perthshire or Ayrshire but open to other areas depending on markets being close for livestock etc

I would put a wanted ad in a decent local paper. EG in Yorkshire, Saturday's Yorkshire Post has a good property section that people put private wanted or for sale ads in. If you advertise for what you want then you're likely to get first option on something that someone has only just decided to put on the market.
Rules are made:
for the guidance of wise men
  and the obedience of fools.

A wanted ad in The Scottish Farmer might throw out something useful. Or try the local mart. They often have estates departments.

I'd go online and search CKD Galbraith, Retties, Bell Ingram, McCrae & McCrae, plus ANM for the far north, there is also primelocation and similar which you can search for 'land' tho you get plots as well as actual land and farms/smallholdings for sale.

I'm selling up in Fife (with McCrae & McCrae) and those are where I look for possible new land to move to (except ANM as I'm central belt focused not north east).

Good luck

Mine is probably too small for you - just under an acre, set up for poultry and waterfowl, raised veg beds, mature fruit bushes. 20 minutes Stirling, 40 minutes Glasgow, 30 minutes Edinburgh airport

That looks lovely. It would suit me perfectly if I could persuade my OH to move north of the border. Actually I would find it difficult to persuade him to move full stop.

Really only of a size for a few sheep, and some goats, I'd have thought - but not cows.  I did think of Alpacas at one point though

Which place are you selling Ellie

Ad is in smallholdings for sale but it's Barleyfields, first on McCraes list online :)  May have a buyer lined up or have to postpone sale due to finance questions on another (coffee lounge/members only) part of the site, but you're welcome to view.or ask questions

HelloHave a look at Smallholdings for sale on this site. I have listed our details under 'Thinking of Selling' and you would be welcome to view if it is what you are looking for.. We are in Angus 5 miles north of Dundee.Due to unforeseen circumstances we havent progressed with estate agents yet. However we can get a valuation if you are interested as it is definately our intention to move.
