Growing Neeps - Easy?
« on: April 26, 2019, 04:33:29 pm »
Was thinking of growing a few neeps since we have the space for my 3 pet sheep to eat later on in the year. Any advise on what type, wheres best to buy and how easy are they to grow?

They need very well manured ground and good spacing.  Best to feed chopped as they can wear down the sheep's teeth if they have to break through the tough outside. It's only noticeable if you keep your sheep for many years.  I can't help with where to source the seed, although there are usually about 1000 seeds in non-hybrid varieties from the garden centre.
