One of the Jamaican staples is Callaloo usually as a spicy vegetable dish. Reading up on it today it's perectly growable here as a spinach-type alternative & weed.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Callaloohttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amaranthhttps://pfaf.org/user/Plant.aspx?LatinName=Amaranthus+blitumhttps://www.chilternseeds.co.uk/item_84N_amaranthus_cruentus_x_powellii

I grew it last year but never used it as the leaves looked old and dry, probably due to the hot summer and the fact we were away at the end of June. My brother also grew it and finds that it comes up every year in different parts of the garden.

Bengali people grow it a lot. Once you plant it it's there forever.
But... there's nothing better than a weed that you don't have to plant but it's very nice to eat!
Growing loads of fruits and vegetables! Raising dairy goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits on 1/2 acre in the middle of the city of Leicester, using permaculture methods.
