Electric shredder - blade won't turn
« on: February 17, 2019, 04:44:47 pm »
I've got a b & q electric shredder that I was using earlier with no problems.

Finished doing what needed so unplugged and opened up to clean all the gunk out, closed up and plugged back in.

Only problem now is the motor spins but not the blade, I've opened again and can spin the blade easily by hand, any ideas anyone?

Cheers

John

Is the shredder run by a belt or gears?

Make sure either is on the pulleys or engaged. Hope you haven't mashed the gears. But there again. With B&Q you can get it replaced if under warranty no quibbles. It's one thing i like about them

Unfortunately it's long out of warranty. Not sure how the blade is driven but guess I'll have to find out.
