How life has changed
« on: October 09, 2010, 08:19:24 am »
After reading a few posts in various forums, I began to think about how much life has changed and how much we have learnt since we bought this place, my general dress code is now sturdy boots, jeans and a 'work' jumper, I dont need a weather forecast because no matter what the weather I still have to go out and feed, muck out etc. My shopping list is usually a pint of milk, a loaf of bread and animal feed of one kind or another, my Christmas list is usually, new boots and a thick jumper. I have learnt how to use a chainsaw and and axe, a rotavator, how to put up new fencing and build animal shelters, inject a pig, observe and know if one of my animals is off colour, recgonise different bird song, one important thing I have learnt is the importance of grass!! There are a million other things that I have learnt or improved on along the way, and there are probably a million more to come, But the main thing I learnt was that I love this life entirely and that puts me in a fine state of mind ready for the winter!! :farmer:

Dan and I went away for a few days last week; stayed in a nice hotel; slept without cats  :cat:. I had a manicure and pedicure - painted toenails!! I kept looking at my fingernails - clean, shaped, cuticles done, nail polish on - they're lovely. Can't imagine they'll be like that for long now but it's nice while it lasts.  ;D

Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Painted toesnails Rosemary? that is excessive, now who is going to see them, you want nice fur carpets to walk about on or open toe shoes to show them off? I remember doing reflexolodgy at college and my best friend had hairy toes and nails painted Red to detract from the black hair, I still giggle about that to this day,

See your point, I think she liked them hairy  ;) My toes are a mess now but I remember the days when I used to wear posh open toe shoes and I dropped something on my big toe so lost the nail for a while, so rather than it looking manky I bought some fake finger nails and glued the thumb one onto my big toe and painted it, was OK till one day I noticed it had gone while I was working in a childrens unit ;D
