Hi from Lincolnshire
« on: October 08, 2010, 03:40:59 pm »
Hi everyone,

What a great site this is.  We've been smallholding for a few years now and keep chickens and ducks (for eggs and meat), milking goats, pigs, meat rabbits with plans to take on some meat goats and sheep in the Spring of 2011.  We also grow some of our own fruit and vegetables.

Besides 'working the land', we've recently started running smallholder courses.  We currently have Poultry and Beekeeping courses held once a month and a Food Safety for Smallholders Course which runs once every 3 months.

Over the coming weeks we'll be adding more and more courses including traditional crafts as well as more livestock husbandry courses.

We look forward to dipping in and out of the forums to advise and get advice!

Hello from Oxfordshire, I have been thinking about running chicken keeping courses, but not quite sure where to start!! We only have very basic facilities here, would I need a classroom type place?

Hi!  Welcome from north Wales.  Foggy here at the moment.  I have relatives in Lincolnshire and understand you've been getting all the dry sunny weather over the last few months....lucky you!!!

Hello and welcome.

I have thought about offering a course here, so I may pick your brains about that!
