Hi from Kent.

We has just moved here from Sussex and are busy getting an area ready for our first pigs. Would like to meet/contact local people as we don;t know anyone in this area.

Hi and welcome from Carnoustie  ;D

You'll meet likeminded folk soon - also see if there is a local smallholders association.

Hi.  Do you know what pigs you're getting yet?  We kept pigs for the first time this year and got them back from the butcher on Tuesday.  I've never tasted anything quote like it.  Marvelous!

Good luck finding a local smallholder's club.

we were thinking of gos or saddlebacks for our first pigs. What breed did you have?

Kind regards

Hello and welcome, we also had our first pigs this year, have been eating them for a couple of weeks (yummy) we have a couple of Gloucester Old Spots boars, they were easy to handle and friendly.

Thanks for the welcome. Quite fancy GoS  but have not seen any breeders close to us yet. We have been talking to someone today that says there is a saddleback breeder quite close to us, so will have to go and have a look ;D but still need to finish the pig area.

Hi and welcome from the Scottish Borders, I have had 2 lots of Saddlebacks and they were great but I must say I am finding my Oxford Sandy and Blacks are even more laid back. I can even be a little late with their feeds and they have not trashed the electric fence like the Saddlebacks did, I am sure that they could tell the time  :D

Our first pigs were crosses from a Large Black boar and a Welsh sow.  They put on weight well and taste great.  As to their behaviour: one was excellent, the other was a bit nippy from day one and stayed that way!  They made an excellent job of rotavating their field ready for sowing some broad beans throughout October / November.

Hello, I lived for a while in Kent when I was eleven-twelve, in Walmer. Are you anywhere near there?

Hi We are 4 miles from Dover in a place called Waldershare, sorry haven't been here long enough to get to know the area that well.
