Goats and Privet
« on: February 11, 2019, 04:45:20 pm »
We are planning on getting some goats soon.

We have some privet around
and we've heard that it's ok for them to eat it
and we've also heard that it's not ok for them to eat it.

What do you think? Should we get rid of the privet or let the goats get rid of it for us?

NO, NO, NO - get rid of privet before goats. Good rule of thumb -anything evergreen and shiny with the exception of Ivy (but berries/flowers cut off) is poisonous. Just stay clear. Native pine is ok too, but that goes to my sheep usually.

Privet is extremely poisonous and if eaten you would be lucky for the goats to survive.  Watch out for wild privet too.

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.

So's mine - thanks Backinwellies and Me.  It's behind a wire fence but you can't be too careful. Pity  :tree:
