Grey Fergie won't start
« on: January 19, 2019, 02:05:03 pm »
Went to use tractor this morning after it's been standing for a few months. Drained petrol last time used and have refilled with fresh new petrol as well as fully charging battery before trying to start.

Started fine last time used but today despite what I try apart from red ignition light there is no sign of life.

Very much a novice at this kind of thing so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

John

Does the engine turn over? - could be many things so as much info would be helpful. Could be a stuck starter motor, damp plugs, points, distributer cap, battery tracking across the terminals, engine seized, faulty wiring etc etc - these are a few things I've encountered with mine.....

No nothing other than the ignition light lighting up. I'll give the starter motor a wack later to see if that's stuck.
