Found equipment - what is it for?

I have found a couple of small plastic bottles and a plastic bottle with a pump top labelled “feather and hair testing”. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Ha ha, don’t think that’s suitable for feathers!!

I tried looking online yesterday but not much info. Possibly said something about sexing? The person before had sheep last of all but did have chickens and pigs before. I don’t know, it’s a mystery!

Maybe for horse DNA? When we send FIS samples they take mane/tail and feather (around hooves)
