Making your own chicken coop?
« on: June 08, 2010, 09:24:16 pm »
Hi everyone.

I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times and no doubt, somewhere on here are some plans, and I apologise for that, but please could someone help with some plans/designs for a 3 bird chicken coop?  It doesn't need a run area as my birds will free range.  I need nest boxes, somewhere for them to roost and easy access to their eggs.

Any other helpful ideas, suggestions much appreciated as I know nothing at all about chickens.

I think there is another post on here from a few days ago about converting a shed into a coop and it has someuseful info about what you need.
you could also have a peek at some on ebay as they are quite detailed as to sizes and what you get etc.

Hiya,  I posted some pics of our setup a while back, which may help.

I didn't use plans as such, just found one I liked online but couldn't afford  ;D, and then blatantly copied it!!  Since I posted this, I've fitted a wee window (double glazed, with frosted privacy glass no less  ;)), which was definitely a good addition.
