although it could all start again soon as Mrs Maran no.2 looks like shes starting so if i can work out a second broody coop she can start sitting!!!

What breed is she? Looks a bit like my broody that I'm trying to find out about ( she came with the place).... Is there a metallic green shine to the feathers? I'd love to know...

hi shes a black maran she does have a green sheen to her feathers, if you had a maran it would be obvious as they lay dark brown eggs...

They are quite dark brown  ;D , not as dark as I've seen on internet pics, so maybe she is a mongrol.... But great mum, so all good.

My white bantam has started going broody just yesterday - I turfed her off 3 eggs last night and this morning she's there again but still laying her own so could be of use if you want to try a few more eggs under her either here or at yours.  I don't want bantie x CLx chicks and couldn't deal with cockerels but if it helps produce purebreed chicks for you (or someone else on here?) I'd gladly loan her out!
