Would definitely not buy a gilt at 3 years old chances of getting them in pig are very slim.

Even so it is usually advisable to put traditional breeds slowly grown in pig at year old latest, after this their fertility declines at a rapid rate of knots as fat envelops the ovaries and prevents egg production, i know this because of domestic problems i let a GOS gilt go to 14mths old before attempting to get her in pig we tried everything, young boar several times and AI as a last resort we even put her in with her father ::)! but she sadly at 18mths old went to the great sausage maker in the sky! It is very unlikely your girls will take and if you're selling them on anyone buying them must be made aware of the doubts in their fertility even if they are still coming into season. They will however make super pet ground rotivators and grass eaters.
