Blackcurrant vodka
« on: August 07, 2013, 10:15:10 pm »
How long do I keep my blackcurrant vodka stewing (so to speak...), as in leave the berries (plus sugar of course) in the vodka before straining... I am stirring it most days and it's already delicious (when I a lick the spoon...ahemm :innocent: , only been going for a week)

I leave mine till just before Christmas then strain it.
I've done
Vodka - blackcurrant, raspberry, ginger, bramble (Blackberry), lemon, strawberry
Gin - ditto

Jelly - ditto, both Vodka and Gin (not together!)

All of them MOST yummy!!! :merryxmas:
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

The jelly is scrumptious but you can't leave that for 3 months - it'll go mouldy  :roflanim:
