Hi I am doing my first Farmers Market on Sunday.

I think I am prepared, but I bet there is something I have missed.

What little things are usually forgotten - any hints would be great

pot of change (count how much so you can tell how much you make)


if small items some spare carriers to give to customers who need them.

ok i cant help but i know others will, its going to come down to a whole heap of ways to keep it frozen/chilled as appropriate to keep the powers that be happy!!!

I am pleased to say I have that side sorted .... It's things like the right amount if float etc that I am sure I will forget - thanks bloomer for your help

float depends on pricing structures there@s not a lot you can do wrong with £50 but in the right denominations. Is everything pre-priced or are you selling by weight (another minefield)


£5 notes are very useful as are £1 and £2 coins then maybe £5-£10 in smaller coins if necessary!!!


obviously if everything you sell is £3 a pack or similar you dont need the small change, always think worst case the first 2 customers buy the cheapest thing on the stall and pay with £20 notes will you be able to make change for both of them.


Can you tell i used to work in retail a long time ago :-)

I'm sure you're all sorted - just last minute panics 

If you haven't already, price everything or very clearly display prices - this saves a lot of time 
Environmental health sheets to record your temperatures (even for chilled stuff) and plenty of business cards/flyers for folk to take away (cos you know they'll want a repeat order once they taste it  )
