:wave:

Its all weighed, bagged and in the fridge or freezer, or eaten! :yum:

  They totalled at just over 44kg, 7kg a bag! plus the extra hearts & livers we were given by the lovely butcher who felt sorry for us as the pigs were so small! :D
  But then, I've said all along how tiny they were, though goodness me how beautifully formed.  All livers intact and beautiful lean meat.

the heads are wrapped & frozen while we decide what exactly we'll do with them, halved.

 we've had a full roast dinner, home grown veg, yorkshires and our very first home raised pork ... the taste is just devine.

I was just wondering how you had got on .....that weight was not too disappointing though?  Kune Kunes will weigh somewhat less that the bigger pigs.  Although your three were rather dainty weren't they!!  But, you now have a freezer of lovely meat!!

Well done on getting the heads back - let us know what you decide to do with them!!!

breed = 100% kune kune
age = 1 year and 1 month
size = very small.
biggest joint 1.4kg, average 0.85kg
their little legs are about an inch in diameter, 2-3 inches trotter to knee. weigh 0.2kg

I tried not to think too much about how much meat we'd get back ... Mr Manian handed me two bags and said "this is it!" and for a moment I thought "oh, ok then!" ::)
when we took the pigs in and the ones on temporary marks (ie under a year old) were towering over them....

but still, the meat is so lovely :)  and no, not at all disappointing Roxy.

Mr Little Blue (!) was very impressed!
he likes his meat cooked for about three days, so I served up then popped it back in the oven. He can have it cremated while I eat the liver, cos he won't!

Burger disaster for you! Thank goodness for the sandwich - a humble invention that has saved many a cooking mishap ::)
  I bet they are still delicious though...
