thats why i opted for a dog and not a bitch this time ;D  could be quite a thing to shout bitch across the field on a sunday morning :P especially as we have a church in the middle of all our land :o

I like traditional collie names. They are usually one syllable. Ours are Tess and Meg. Meg's parents were Gyp and Mac. My uncle was a shepherd and the dogs I can remember were Jill, Meg, Tam, Fly, Roy and Craig. When I worked on the sheep farm the boss's dog was called Tan. I like Mirk and Moss, too.

Good links, Blinkers - must try the Scottish Sheepdog School - our smallholders association is hoping to visit Fergus Wood's place this summer anyway.

our other collie is called Tai, then theres 3 springers, hooch belle and cariad, a boxer, max, a staffi, folie(means mad in french) then a tiny chihuahua tinkerbel.  fuft! i dont think i'veleft any out ;)

I think the name Fly for a collie sounds nice...

theyre all fly moss meg bob bill i'm sure if i called any of those i'd have all the working dogs in the area come running :o

muttly? mmm?  would be mwtli in welsh ;D  well first 24hours been and gone :D he met new born lambs close up today out in the field :) very good with them, infact to good realy, he startd to clean them up ::) right, ok ,this pup will work in the end, i'm sure ::)  had to carry him out of the field, he was knackered :o well it takes it outa you watching lambs and playing ;D

Hiya Dan

Any names yet? I have had a Roy, Mist and Moss.  David, who does the videos had a male called "Greg" and my friends had a Max, Ben and Cap.

Nothing yet ???  the worse thing is he realy respomds to being told hes a good DOG or a bad DOG :-[  and when we talk about the new dog he looks up quite happy :o

Why dont you call him NOG after the little Ferengi on Star Trek Deep Space Nine, at least he will respond to that, it sounds like DOG  :).
