Hi all from Fins Farm
« on: November 04, 2010, 01:36:58 pm »
Hi Everyone,

just thought i'd introduce myself. i have just started a smallholding in lincolnshire breading rare breed chickens, berkshire pigs, and looking in the future to breed sheep. We currently have several rare breed chickens including Jubilee Orpington Bantams, Black Hamburg and L/F Lavender Orpington's. we also have just bought our first 2 Berkshire sows ( Truffles and Cupcake ) which we hope to start breeding from next year. i'm looking forward to all that bacon!!!.

My Son has this weekend decided that Ex-Battery hens would also be great to have, so we bought him 15. the eggs are already coming from them. bring on the bacon and sausages next year and that will be breakfast sorted lol.

i have just created a website http://www.finsfarm.co.uk so if you'd like to know more please check it out
Lets hope tomorrow is better than today!!

Welcome from wet and windy Worcestershire.  Well done with your chickens, and congrats on the Berkshires, a lovely friendly breed to keep, and good eating too ;)

All the best
Sue

Hi!  Welcome from equally wet and windy north Wales (river Ceirw in front of us in the valley just about to break its banks).
Good that you're getting some eggs - my 12 are producing a megre 1-3 a day at the moment - really poor show!!
