I have a small farm and starting in sheep ,few dexter cows, few pigs and numerous chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese. Just found your site and seen a few posts that really sounded interesting. It is real cold here-31 with the wind and we spend as little time outside as we can right now. It's a challenge to keep everyone surviving the cold. I have Hampshire/Charollais cross sheep and a small flock of Shetlands that I bought this fall.We moved from from a large city 5 years ago to a rural area with small towns less than 400 people. I love it and the kids have a lot more freedom than before.I was raised on a farm when I was young but I'm on a steep learning curve trying to remember as much as I can and ad libing the rest. I found this site looking for a sheep cradle source my sheep feel bigger than me when I try to sit them. My husband has never lived on a farm so sometimes it's pretty funny around here. We are not as young as we imagine we are anymore.
