Hello from Towcester

Hi there

I strumbled across this forum by chance and am pleased to see that it is a lively one!

I have a smallholding of 3 acres, we have Shetland sheep (lambing now) a few commercial cade lambs, two pygmy goats, two weaner pigs, ducks, quail and a couple of hundred chickens plus two cats and a wonderful little Welsh terrier

My main interest is the poultry which I show over the winter  :chook:

after 3 years I am getting more used to dealing with the livestock but its been a heck of a learning curve - especially the lambing!

I'm looking forward to contributing to the forum  ;D

Sounds like fun! Welcome to TAS

I take it you keep and bred pure breed hens, rather than commercial layers?

4 slice  ;D

Its certainly a money pit!

Thank you for your welcomes everyone.

The chickens are nearly all pure breed bantams, lots of different breeds but I really only show the Wyandottes.

I will get some pics up of the rabble including the shetlands Fowlman. Two lambs born (singles) in the last day  :)

Hello from South Lincolnshire. When we were visiting Lincolnshire to view houses we picked up a lovely Jack Russell wandering by the side of the A road near Towcester. We named him Toaster for the duration. Wish we could have kept him....his owner came and bagged him the next day. We got a nice bottle of port by way of a thankyou though. Mmm port. Love it but it hates my head the next morning. Sorry am I going off on one. Lambing and overtired!

Hi.  What made you think of the name?
Being certain just means you haven't got all the facts
