My cows. And Happyhippy

A couple of photos - Breeze and her 2013 heifer, Bonnie and Blizzard with Mrs Happyhippy, proving that Shetland cattle like people. Even ones they don't know very well  ;)

It looks like it's mutual ;)
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

They are lovely, I have been working with cattle all morning and it really made me miss having cows.

They look lovely

I do like shetlands, they have big eyes like jerseys and pretty horns

They are alot bigger/taller than I assumed they were!! I thought they were little like dexters! how much do they weigh?

About 450 - 500kg for a cow, I believe. If one stands on your foot, it's a lot more in lbs/square inch  ;D

Yes, they are bigger than the Dexters but docile by nature. We got 163kg beef from last year's bullock at 28 months or so.
